Alinda Fay Eastman Turner passed for earthly life and went to her home in glory on September 28, 2023. She passed peacefully at Uvalde Memorial Hospital among family members. Alinda was born in Ozona, Texas on May 17th, 1932, to Thomas Harvey Eastman and Fannie Rogers Eastman, a ranching family. Alinda attended schools in Ozona, San Marcos, Del Rio and Sanderson. Alinda graduated from Sanderson high school . When a senior she met her future husband, Jim Turner. Two years after graduating, Alinda and Jim were married on Jan. 30th 1952, and they made their home in Sanderson until 1972, when Jim joined the Border Patrol and they were stationed in Laredo, Texas until 1988 when they transferred to Uvalde. Alinda was baptized at a young age at the First Baptist Church in Pumpville, Texas. In the following years she served in three other churches, First Baptist in Sanderson, First Baptist in Laredo and Baptist Temple in Uvalde. In all three she served any where she was needed and sang in the last three church choirs. Alinda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother always doing for others. Alinda did a lot of knitting and baking and shared the fruit of her labor with anyone.

She was a good helpmate with anything she and Jim attempted to do, whether it was working cattle or goats, building fences or whatever, she would make a good hand. Alinda really enjoyed fishing (except deep sea) and hunting. She also helped to clean and process the bounty of her hunts. She killed her last buck deer at home at the age of 90.

Alinda is survived by her husband Jim of 71 ½ years. Son Mack Turner and Wife Donna of Mansfield, Texas, daughter Barbara Flores and companion John De Leon of Sealy, Texas, son James Turner Jr. of Dale, Texas, and daughter Carrie Perez and husband Emilio of Uvalde, Texas.
