Alejandro (Alex) F. Rodriguez, 75, of Uvalde passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, at Uvalde Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on September 29, 1950, Alejandro was the beloved son of Sara Flores and Jose B. Rodriguez. Growing up, he was full of mischief, energy and laughter. He loved to fish, bar-b-que, and had a passion for collecting stray cats. He never met a stranger and had great compassion for those who had less than him. He was always feeding his neighbors, co-workers and friends.

Alejandro graduated from Uvalde High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was assigned as an ADR Specialist on the USS Saratoga. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal XV Campaign, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, and the Navy Unit Commendation.

After the service he became a Certified Welder and worked at this trade until his retirement. He was a man of deep faith and enjoyed watching western movies, fishing, dancing, and an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was known for his generous spirit, quick laughter, and was always in a good mood.

He is survived by his loving siblings, Maria Nelia Salazar of La Pryor, Artemio Rodriguez, Armando Rodriguez (Odilia) all of Uvalde, Rosa Elia Rodriguez of Chicago, Veronica Flores (Roberto) of Merkel, Zinna Aguilera, and Cynthia Martinez (Mico) all of Uvalde and many extended family members and childhood close friends, Fidencio Rivera and Sergio Porras, who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sara F. and Jose B. Rodriguez, brothers, Joe Rodriguez, Mario Alberto Rodriguez, Arnoldo Rodriguez, and his sisters, Alicia Gonzales, and Sylvia Magdaleno.
