Alberto “Beto” Garza, 64, of Uvalde, Texas, passed away on December 19th 2025 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on January 6th ,1961 in Eagle Pass, Texas to Gregorio Garza and Juanita Alonzo.
Beto graduated from Eagle Pass High School and dedicated over 30 years of his life as a skilled carpenter at Southwest Texas Junior College, where he later retired. His creativity and craftsmanship live on through the many wooden signs displayed around the campus, especially those seen during Christmas, and the hand carved Palominofest entryway sign, which were great sources of pride for him.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents Gregorio and Juanita Garza, and his siblings Jose Luis Garza, and Santa Cristina Garza.
Beto is survived by his children Alberto Garza Jr. and his wife Priscilla, Eloisa Dorflinger and her husband Max, Elina Ybarra and her husband Ruben. He is also survived by his siblings Olivia Rodriguez, Oscar Garza, Jose Santana Garza, Gregorio Garza Jr., Sonia Alvarez, Maria De Jesus Mauricio, Alma Rosa Cardenas, Juan Antonio Garza, Raul Garza. Beto leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Diego, Evan, Joshua, Ethan, Jade, and Javier who brought immense joy to his life.
Beto was a proud father and grandfather who never missed an opportunity to talk about his family or share a video. He could often be found at the baseball fields, cheering loudly from the stands and supporting his boys with unwavering love.
Visitation will be Sunday December 28th at 12:00 pm with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing Estes Knowles Mortuary in Uvalde.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on December 29th at Rushing Estes Knowles Mortuary in Uvalde.
