Irma Gaytan, 79, of Uvalde died on July 24, 2019, in Uvalde.
A visitation will be held on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
A rosary will be held on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church of La Pryor. Interment will follow at La Pryor Cemetery.
She was born on Jan. 24, 1940, in Villa Hidalgo, Coahuila, Mexico, to Maria de Jesus Garza and Pablo Castillo.
She married Vicente Gaitan on March 17, 1956, in Villa Hidalgo, Coahuila, Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her maternal grandparents, Ramona Garza and Rito Garza; paternal grandparents, Encarnacion San Miguel and Primo Castillo; Son, Antonio Gaitan; and three sisters, Rafaela Mendoza, Guadalupe Hernandez and Consuelo Piñeda.
She is survived by her husband, of Uvalde; 10 children, John Gaitan and wife, Maria, Maria Soliz and husband, Roy, Guadalupe Gaitan, Margie Alcozer and husband, Bobby, Martha Rodriguez and husband, Jesse, Pablo Gaitan and companion, Rosemary Gonzalez, Freddy Gaitan, Bobby Gaitan and wife, Diana, David Gaitan and companion, Roxy Martinez, and Raquel Zamora and husband, Jesse; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Pablo, Bobby, David, Leroy, Lupe and John.
