Ignacio Cervera Cervera of Uvalde passed away on November 7, 2019 at Main Methodist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 90. He was born on December 3, 1928 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila Mexico to Santiago and Cesaria (Cervera) Cervera.
He married Consuelo Rodriguez-Negrete on May 23, 1955 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila Mexico.
Ignacio very much enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching wrestling, music, dancing & spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years; daughters, Rosa Elia Menchaca and husband, Reginaldo of Uvalde, Juanita Mucito and husband, Miguel of San Antonio, Carmen Julia Menchaca and husband, Esteban of Carrizo Springs, Cesaria Maldonado and husband, Salome of San Antonio, Maria del Consuelo Gonzalez and husband, Mario of Eagle Pass, Anna Guadalupe Dominguez and husband, Ismael of San Antonio, Laura Patricia Cervera and husband, Regino Vitela of Midlothian, Maria del Socorro Garcia and husband, Juan Manuel of Corsicana; sons, Ignacio Cervera Jr. and wife, Veronica of New Mexico, Oscar Cervera and wife, Rosa Chavez of Piedras Negras, Santiago Cervera and wife, Carolina Contreras of Midlothian, Juan Antonio Cervera and wife, Sara Ontiveros of Fort Worth, Jesus Cervera and wife, Lilia of Midlothian, Francisco Javier Cervera and wife, Adriana of Eagle Pass, Manuel Cervera and wife, Enedelia of Midlothian, 64 grandchildren; 93 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters Ana, Maria, Francisca, & Guadalupe; and 2 brothers Cruz & Manuel, 1 great-great grandchild Giuliana Menchaca.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ignacio Cervera Jr., Santiago Cervera, Oscar Cervera, Juan Antonio Cervera, Francisco Javier Cervera, Jesus Cervera and Manuel Cervera.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Uvalde Memorial Hospital and the new hospital Capital Campaign.
